At the recent physician disciplinary hearings conducted by the Florida Board of Medicine, the Board fined a physician $30,000.00 and ordered him to perform 100 hours of community service for allegedly prescribing an overdose of narcotic pain medication to a patient via the Internet without performing a physical examination or maintaining the man’s medical records. The Board also suspended the physician’s license to prescribe narcotics at the disciplinary hearing.
